MMC Based Hybrid Switched Capacitor DC-DC Converter

Aiming to address the growth and integration of renewable sources electronic loads, different types dc-dc topologies with specific features have been proposed, going from medium frequency isolated Modular Multilevel Converter Switched Capacitor Hybrid topologies. In this paper, a bidirectional based converter is presented, featuring transformerless structure, automatic total arm voltages clamping/balancing, voltage static gain independent submodules quantity efficiency reduced duty cycle influence. The topology operates Quasi-Two-Level modulation, which provides passive components volume/weight reduction, degree freedom regarding ${dv/dt}$ applied on magnetic windings basis perform submodule capacitor equalization within each arm. operating principles are approached by an average value analysis, while instant analysis used estimate current spike worst case. A notation="LaTeX">${1.17}$ kW, notation="LaTeX">${350/200}$ V laboratory scale prototype using IGBTs implemented experimentally confirm theoretical approaches.
